  • Fitchburg Parks & Recreation Department
    Park events, sports clubs and leagues, playgrounds, swimming lessons, trips & tours, skate camp, stroller stride classes, concerts, aerobics, etc.
  • Johnny Appleseed Trail of North Central Mass
    Highlights of “the pleasures and treasures” North Central Massachusetts has to offer.  Includes calendar of events for the area, guides, brochures, etc.
  • Coggshall Park
    Featuring a gazebo on Mirror Lake, stone house, playground, softball field, and walking trails.
  • Wallace Civic Center
    Skating, trade shows, sports games, concerts, award ceremonies.
  • Flat Rock Wildlife Sanctuary
    A six-mile trail system traverses the sanctuary and leads you to the summit, known as Flat Rock. At an elevation of 950 feet, the summit offers a view of the beautiful surrounding valley. On the sanctuary, signs of fox, deer, and fishers may catch your eye.
  • Ryan C. Joubert Memorial Skatepark
    New England's largetst Public (13,000 sq.ft.) cast-in-place outdoor concrete skatepark.
  • Coolidge Park & Swimming Pool
    Five baseball/softball fields, a swimming pool with toddler water feature area, a perimeter walking path, several soccer fields, two street hockey rinks, a small play structure and a beach volleyball court. Located at the intersection of John Fitch Highway and Pearl Street, adjacent to the Wallace Civic Center. There are two main parking areas. Parking for the soccer fields is available off John Fitch Highway. Parking for the swimming pool and adult softball fields is accessed from Pearl Street.
  • Stream Line Trail and Planned Riverwalks
    4.15 acre park located near 465 Westminster Street.  Includes a parking lot and walking trail along the Nashua River and Flag Brook. This park is the first implementation of the City's plans to develop a network of trails along the Nashua River, connecting to trails in Leominster and Westminster.
  • Crocker Conservation Area
    150-acre conservation area surrounding Overlook Reservoir, a popular destination for hikers.  Over five miles traverse the conservation area and link to adjacent Audubon Flatrock Sanctuary.
  • Parkhill Park Splash Park
    This park is located in the Cleghorn neighborhood, and features a water spray park with bathhouse, a skateboard park, two play structures with swings, tennis courts, several “Babe Ruth” baseball fields, a basketball court, and a soccer-football field currently under development.
  • Leominster State Forest
    4,300-acre parcel of forested land, located in five towns/cities:  Fitchburg, Leominster, Westminster, Princeton, and Sterling.  Non-motorized boating, canoeing, fishing, hiking, historic site, hunting (restrictions), mountain biking, picknicking, scenic viewing areas, cross-country skiing, swimming, and walking trails.
  • Saima Park
    Cross country skiing, track & field, cyclocross races, voit lassila invitational races, cultural fairs & festivals, dances.
  • Wachusett Mountain
    Skiing, festivals, dining, etc.
  • The Warning Track
    Indoor baseball/softball facility offering batting cages, clay pitching areas, hitting cages, pitching circles, "Atec" pitching machines, remote-controlled soft-toss machines, turf flooring, conference room for team meetings.
  • Mt. Monadnock
    The most climbed mountain in North America, the second most climbed mountain in the world. More than 60 poems have been written about it, dozens of paintings of it are in museums around the world and 100,000 people hike it every year.

  • Fitchburg Sportsmen's Club
    The oldest continuously active sportsmen's club in the United States, offering archery, fishing, hunting and trap. 
  • Fitchburg Cycling Club
    Small, dedicated group of cycling enthusiasts based in North Central Massachusetts, commited to advancing the popularity and awareness of the sport of cycling in Central Mass.  Whether it’s on the road, trails, or cyclocross, they ride and race throughout the year.
  • Oak Hill Country Club
    Private, member owned club established in 1921.  Features an eighteen hole golf course, dining facilities, function rooms, tennis and swimming facilities.
  • Willard Brook State Forest
    2,597 acres with the character and feeling of forests usually found much farther west in the state.  Tumbling brook, waterfall, campsites, swimming, walking, hiking, birding, fishing, horseback riding and winter trail sports.  Picnic tables, grills and restrooms are seasonally available.
  • Pearl Hill State Park 
    1,000 acre park open on a seasonal basis from Memorial Day through Labor Day.  Campground, bathhouse, day use area which includes a five-acre pond with a beach area, and miles of hiking trails.

  • Marshall Farm
